Admins and Mods
Moderators: Moderators are high-ranking officials who handle a great deal of the world affairs. Moderators are in supervisory control of most government related dealings, which means they are always extremely busy with making sure that everything works smoothly. To that end they patrol the
MFW and right everything that might be out of place. Additionally, the Moderators effectively control the
SCPD and often take part in active investigations in order to deal with particular outlaws. Moderators possess extraordinary abilities granted to them by the
Figment Keys. These powers are great enough that many people consider Mods akin to demigods (though it has to be noted that neither Mods nor Admins possess what is described as the 'spark of divinity').
Administrators: The Administrators are the supreme rulers of
MFW. Everybody, including the Mods, answers to them - and they are the final arbitrators of everything that goes on in the
MFW. In the general scope of things, Admins handle themselves with the same things that Mods do but their authority is greater. Like Mods, Admins also have access to unique powers granted to them by the
Figment Keys - but on a grander scale. The powers that Admins have over reality in the
MFW has often been described to be similar like the ones some deities have on their domains. The Admins obey the Co-Webmaster, Vector, who has higher authority.
Special Powers
As mentioned above Administrators and Moderators have access to the powers of the
Figment Keys. They are to an extent symbiotically bound to them and the
Keys are the source of their powers.
Admin/Mod powers always take a decent amount of concentration. The minimum is usually about 10-15 mins so despite their awesome power, they are hard to effectively be utilized in battle (it's just plainly impossible to ban a raving
Forumer who hunts you with a knife in a room, when the ban power takes about half an hour of concentration). That essentially is the reason why ordinary
Forumers are sometimes more powerful in battle. The amount of time required to concentrate in order to manifest a Special Power depends on 3 factors:
- The Power the Mod/Admin is trying to manifest (see power descriptions).
- The distance to the HQ Tower. The Figment Keys are stored in the Tower, and the greater the distance between the Keys and the Mod/Admin, the longer the Mod/Admin must concentrate for the power to manifest.
- The ability of a given Mod/Admin to concentrate effectively. This usually refers to each person's mental conditioning and personal discipline - some Mod/Admins are simply better at concentration than others. For instance True Red, being a Psychic, was a lot more experienced and able to concentrate than a scientist like Vector. Unless otherwise noted, Admin/Mod Powers do NOT affect LIVING BEINGS.
Moderator Powers Descriptions
Teleport Inanimate Object: A Moderator has the power to teleport a small to medium sized object to any place on the
MFW (moving threads). This takes about 5-10 mins of concentration depending on the object.
Minor Alteration: A Moderator has some control over his/her surroundings allowing him/her to alter them. (IE: anything from changing the color of a wall to controling the weather). His/her alteration powers are limited however. With a decent amount of concentration, a Mod could potentialy halt a rainstorm for a brief period of time, or cover a hole in the street. However, as a general rule of thumb, Mods can only alter something when it is deemed that it needs "correcting". This power is an RP echo of the "Edit Post" mod option. ^__^
Minor Deletion: A Mod can destroy an object by deleting it from existence if that object is fit as a mistake, or a violation of the law. A Mod can only delete soulless objects with this power. This power is an RP echo of the "Delete Post" mod option. ^__^
Omniscience: Well, something like that. When a Mod needs to find out info about something, he/she almost always does. This power is a mystical combination of magic, instinct and active research. Basically, if a Mod needs information, then the places he/she looks to find it are most likely the ones that the information he/she seeks lies in. Think of it as a 6th sense of some sorts. Mods just seem to stumble onto the info as if they are extremely lucky. This basically doesn't require concentration, but it does require the Mod to actively seek the info out or research it. Results are faster if the Mod consults the Lackey. ~__^
Administrator Powers Descriptions
Greater Teleportation: An Admin can teleport to any place on the
MFW he/she wants. He/she can also carry with him/her, any number of willing individuals, as well as objects. He/she can also use this ability on other people or objects, without teleporting himself/herself. This happens instantenously and requires a few minutes of concentration. The amount of concentration is bigger if the Admin wishes to Teleport an unwilling individual. If the Admin only wishes to teleport himself/herself, then the concentration needed is no more than 5 seconds no matter the distance to the
Figment Keys.
Greater Alteration: An Admin has ultimate control of his/her surroundings on half a mile radius. He/she can make all sorts of alterations at his/her whim without having to correct mistakes and just edit stuff. He/she can control the weather, paint a building, improve a machine, etc. It takes a decent amount of concentration (over 15 mins) and it could reach even an hour or more depending on just how drastic the alteration is (for instance, making the Moon disappear). Greater Alteration CANNOT affect things NOT OF THIS WORLD (like machines developed on other words and then brought here).
Greater Deletion: Similar to Minor Deletion, only that in this case, the Admin may freely delete any object no matter its size or whether it broke the law or not. Does not affect Living beings.
Creation: An Admin can create objects, building and other soulless objects with a large amount of concentration. A lot of Districts are a direct result of this ability. However, it's very straining on the Admin.
Ban: An Admin has the power to exile a
forumer from the
MFW by concentrating for about 20 to 30 minutes. The target of the Ban has to be subdued and the Admin must have a constant eye-contact with him/her (which means that individuals that are to be banned, will have to first be arrested in order for the power to be used properly). After the completion of the power, the target of the ban is hurled to the Astral Plane and cannot, theoreticaly, return to the
MFW unless the Ban is removed. The target is otherwise unharmed. It has to be noted, that banning is not the De Facto punishment for all crimes. Some crimes are not serious enough to warrant a Ban. Furthermore, some criminals might be too evil or dangerous to just Ban them (since that way they would be free to continue their evil ways on other worlds - something not morally accepted since it's not a good thing to burden other people with YOUR problems) so they are imprisoned instead. Banning is basically the only power along with Greater Teleportation that affects living beings.
Omniscience: Same as the Mod power, but Admins usually get results faster.
Other Notes
Mod/Admin powers are somewhat capricious. They sometimes just don't work, or don't work right, for seemingly no apparent reason. This is very rare and is usually attributed to a human error. A very good example of this is the following: During
GMI, Administrator Troophead wanted to use her power of Greater Deletion to obliterate a bomb and thus concentrated on doing exactly that. However her power did not work. That was because the item she concentrated on deleting, though resembling a bomb, was actually just a Jack in the Box. Which means, that if a Mod or Admin is wrong in the application of the power, then the power doesn't work.
Also, there are two "sets" of admins/mods (the
Evil Admins/Mods, and the normal ones). Only one set (the set in official possession of the
Figment Keys) will have access to their powers at the time. This usually translates to who controls the
HQ Tower, since by default the
Figment Keys are stored there.
Admin/Mod powers only work on the
MFW. If an Admin or Mod goes to another world he/she loses all access to said powers.
Exceptions
- Whoever holds any of the two Cosmic Icky Sticks is immune to Banning.
- WB and Evil WB have all the afforementioned powers (except Banning) because of the Cosmic Icky Sticks (they and only they can do this - this does not apply if a random forumer happens to somehow obtain the Sticks). The WBs can also use the powers instantly thanks to the Sticks without requiring time or concentration.
- The Cosmic Icky Sticks can temporary merge to cause an instant Ban.
- As the Guardian of Worlds, Mobius TetherBlood cannot be banned since no form of dimensional control works on him against his will.
- The Moderator Cj's stomach seems to be an extradimensional space of near infinite capacity. A lot of the things that Mods or Admins could delete with their powers, they actually send to his stomach instead. This practice is often called "Feeding Cj" or "Sending it to Cj's stomach". ^__^
