Behind the Scenes Note:
GMR was conceived around the time GMS was launched and TBlood had even written its intro since way back, but ended up launching it much later than originally intended. Ironically, Troophead claimed that a GM based on the Cthulhu Mythos would never work.

The Concept:
Writer Howard Philips Lovecraft and his writer friends created cult, horror/science fiction stories during the '30s that came to be known collectively as parts of the "Cthulhu Mythos" (a title courtesy of August Derleth). It is beyond the scope of this transcript to fully explain the main themes of Lovecraft's tales, but needless to say, GMR was an active attempt to capture some of that dark, mind-corrupting spirit and fuse it with the MFW in the form of a Group Mission. TBlood was very satisfied with the end result.

The Story: (archive to the actual GM∞)
A murder takes place within the Lavender Asylum. One of its inmates was killed mysteriously by what seemed to be a teleporting sword-wielding entity.

The forumers immediately begun their investigation in what appeared only the first in a string of murders. Someone's hacking people up and the first suspect in Moderator Tergonaut's list turns out to be Mobius TetherBlood who effectively avoids prosecution by utilizing the members of HEAT who now work for him.

As the forumers discovered, the 2nd victim was a professor at the Sega City University who not only knew Bradbury (the first victim) but also used to work with him for the shadowy (and now defunct) WepTech Corporation.

As Forumers begin their investigation, a slightly paranoid forumer by the name of Darkest Light encounters a shadowy entity who mentally commands him to relay a message to the Admins:
"That is not dead which can eternal lie
and with strange Aeons even Death may die".
